The Rotary Foundation in the District will be funding an Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarship [US $26,000] to study overseas in the 2008/09 program year
The scholarship includes funding for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room, board and necessary education supplies. Application  are currently being called. Nominations close Friday 24 August 2007.

RYLA.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award is a challenging 4 day training programme which provides a unique opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills and self confidence under the guidance of business professionals, Rotarians and Rylarians.

Rotary is seeking young people between the ages of 18 to 26 years who have the talent, energy and motivation to discover their leadership potential to attend this programme.

What does RYPEN do?
RYPEN is a weekend camp held once each year. RYPEN targets young people in the14 to17 age group. It is a personal development program developing leadership skills by communicating ideas, problems and social experiences that will assist them in forming their own values and moral standards.
Who can go to the RYPEN camp?
Anyone in the14 to17 age group. It is not necessarily for the top students, school representatives or the obvious young leaders. The ideal candidate is the teenager who will benefit from confidence building, encouragement, a guiding hand or simply the chance to learn more about their own capabilities
